Kerri and AJ met in 2009, during their freshmen year of high school.  Ironically, Kerri was dating one of AJ's good friends at the time and through this relationship the two came to know each other.  Kerri and AJ continued to be close friends after Kerri and AJ's friend broke up.  After some time getting to know AJ, Kerri, soft-spoken in nature, began to fall for crazy, rambunctious AJ.  AJ, however, did not reciprocate these feelings (again--AJ would like to emphasize the fact that Kerri had a crush on AJ first). In fact, AJ swore he would never date such a quiet and shy girl.  However, it didn't take long for AJ to decide to give this shy, but BEAUTIFUL girl a shot.  On June 19th 2009, AJ asked Kerri to be his girlfriend after playng her the very romantic DJ Skeet Skeet remix of A Milli by Lil' Wayne.  This was the beginning of the most amazing love story ever!

AJ and Kerri's relationship in high school was filled with a lot of ups and downs.  The two never went to the same school and experienced certain difficulties in their lives during these transformative years.  AJ always felt Kerri was a gift from God as she helped him through some of his hardest times.  From even their early years, AJ loved and appreciated the loving and stable woman that Kerri was.  What attracted Kerri to AJ was his confidence and sense of humor.  One of her favorite memories was during their first real date, when AJ managed to cause chaos at a fancy restaurant by knocking a display sign down the restaurant's staircase in the middle of the dining room and spilling multiple drinks throughout the evening.  The two managed to get through high school without ever breaking up because of their deep connection at an early age.

After not going to the same high school, Kerri and AJ were up for the task of not going to the same university either.  They both believe this decision was incredibly important for their relationship as they were each able to grow individually.  AJ originally attended Point Loma Nazarene University where he developed a new passion for the Lord.  This ultimately lead to him transferring to Vanguard University and working for Viewpoint Church--bringing him to live in a different city from Kerri.  Kerri took these three years to really break out of her shell.  The distance was tough but created a stronger bond between the two.

 

Heading into their final year of college, AJ felt the Lord speaking to him about going to Mozambique to serve as a missionary for three months.  The two of them knew this was going to be a challenge.  While AJ was gone, Kerri would frequently express to AJ the difficult time she was having being so far from him.  Little did Kerri know, while AJ was in Mozambique, he began to hear the Lord confirm that Kerri was to be his wife.  The Lord told AJ to buy a ring in Cape Town, South Africa on his way home.  So he did and began to plan for a proposal.  AJ succeeded in keeping the ring hidden from Kerri for over six months!

On February 20th, 2016, AJ proposed to Kerri at the beach in Newport.  AJ planned a beautiful proposal by creating a book filled with letters from her family and close friends about what they love about Kerri.  After reading these, she was guided down a rose petal path to find AJ at the end of the beach.  He then asked her the big question and she said YES!  After this, he washed her feet to show her that he would serve her for the rest of his life.  After the proposal, the two were sitting on the beach and were surprised with their own personal fireworks show!

The two have been waiting a long seven years and are finally ready to tie the knot.  They are best friends and don't want to live life without each other.  Although the two could not be more opposite, they have found a way to love each other's differences.  AJ loves the way Kerri is quiet, stable, and loving, while Kerri loves AJ's confidence, passion, and humor.  The two are committed to living their lives loving Jesus and serving Him.  They are excited for you to join them on this very special day.
